My Story
I was born in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico, and moved to LA at the age of 4, yet I tried never to lose touch with my Mexican heritage. The traditional Mexican recipes I share with my followers have been passed down for generations in my family.
Although I later mastered my culinary arts on my own, I started by learning most of my mother’s recipes at the age of 13. I also consider a well-fed family is the key to being a happy family. Family is extremely important to me, and I believe that dinner should be celebrated every day as the table is where you get to catch up on each other’s lives and that food brings people together.
How Jenny started sharing her recipes
In just a year, Jenny Martinez became very well-known across social media platforms for sharing her authentic Mexican family recipes. Jenny currently has 3.5 million followers on her TikTok (@jennymartinezzz), 503K followers on her Instagram (@happybelliesbyjenny), and 250K YouTube subscribers (@jennymartinez).
Jenny started posting keto recipes on Instagram, but her daughter inspired her to try posting on TikTok, where one of her authentic Mexican recipe videos went viral overnight. From then on, Jenny has consistently grown in followers and engagement on all social platforms. She even started a TikTok trend after posting a viral video of her “Quesa-Tacos” Birria recipe.
